Weddings are often described as the coming together of two people and two families. But Matt and Trisha’s union was something much more. It was the coming together of two countries, two traditions and two ways of life. What unfolded was a celebration filled with beauty, emotion and joy, but what moved us most was being at the heart of it all, witnessing the way two families poured their hearts into one unforgettable weekend.

Held at The Lalit Resort in Bekal, surrounded by the stillness of backwaters and the lush green of Kerala’s coast, the venue offered the perfect backdrop. It felt far from the rest of the world, almost like it was made to hold moments that would last a lifetime.

Matt arrived with his family from Ireland, bringing with them a warmth and charm that instantly lit up the space. From the first moment, they were curious, attentive and filled with awe as they watched the Indian wedding traditions unfold. Every ritual was met with wonder. The colours, the music, the energy, all of it so different from what they had known, yet so warmly welcomed.

And then came the Irish dance. As the evening progressed, Matt and his family took to the floor with a spirited performance that had everyone clapping and smiling. It was their way of bringing a piece of home into this beautiful Indian celebration. For a few minutes, two worlds moved to the same rhythm and it was magic.
